Mexican Beaded Lizard (Heloderma horridum) is found throughout central and western Mexico from latitude 25, southward to northern Central America. They inhabit semi-arid rocky regions. The stripes and spots (white to yellow in color) on its black bumpy skin give this lizard a beaded appearance and its name. Average size is between 30-36 inches in length and 3.5-6 pounds. Heloderma horridum is one of only two venomous lizards in the world
